SHCGB Arden Grange Aviemore 2014

1/2/2014

Our first Aviemore saw not the most ideal weather conditions but the scenery is spectacular and we had a brilliant time with the dogs and meeting new and old friends! We enjoyed the scenery on the trail and Lou had a really good clear run with the two pocket monsters who worked really hard, nice tight lines throughout. Matt ran Snak in single lead and in training this worked out great, but with the combination of Snak losing his boots and then deciding he wasn't sure whether he wanted to run single lead, led to Matt sorting out a couple of tangles. Despite this, the dogs had alot of fun and we were really pleased with our times with the amount of training we have been able to do due to the incessant flooding in Somerset. We are so proud of our dogs and will certainly be back next year. Huge well done to our friends and their dogs on their results. Thanks to @ArdenGrange for their sponsorship of the event http://www.ardengrange.com/.

The rest of the month sees us training the dogs (please no more floods) and our next doggy related event is an open dog show where we will be showing Laika under breed specialist Sue Blake of Rykalov Siberian Huskies. Our next rally will be at the end of February competing at the World Cup National Championship & Qualifier under the BSSF at Thetford. We are really looking forward to running the dogs on the lovely trails at Thetford. For more info see http://www.sleddogsportsgb.com/#/bssf-ifss-world-cup/4580902579
