Temperatures not being on our side down South to get the dogs out for super long runs so our attention turns more to vehicle maintenance, grooming and summer shows. Our conformation show attendance depends on judge, distance to travel and whether it coincides with Matt being away with the RN where logistics with owning more than one or two dogs come into play. We enjoy our show days out visiting different parts of the country, meeting up with friends and watching other Siberians on display in a more relaxed environment than a busy rally where most of us are running around like headless chickens getting multiple teams out. The dogs enjoy their show days out where they get extra fuss, treats and meet their doggy pals. We see showing as a fun doggy day out and of course it is lovely when a judge thinks your dog is as nice as you do but we always take the best dogs home. These musings brings us to re visit this excellent article about Siberians in the UK Show ring written by Sally Leich of the Forstal Kennel whom we visited this year; http://www.dogworld.co.uk/product.php/120827/1706/the_siberian_husky_fit_for_function_ or_not__by_sally_leich/78e248c7407756c6649d5e5e426e9ffa#sthash.x9LFfMGt.gbpl
