It's not the distance, it's the adventure...

We enjoy everything the UK race season has to offer and that includes rallies that offer four to eight mile trails and rallies that offer ten to twenty eight mile trails. With the shorter rallies, the twists and turns are exciting for us and keep the dogs alert and the longer rallies are great to test our dogs over different terrain and a chance for us to enjoy the scenery. As long as our dogs are having fun then we are too regardless of distance.

In the New Year Matt took six of our dogs to the AMWA Salisbury trek ( Pictured In Lead Laika with her neice Kara, Swing, Snik and Tonrar and in wheel Snak and Huxley) Sadly Cassidy Squibly was too young to enter (poor squibley). In typical Matt style he made a special trekking rig bag in which to carry a stove, tea bags, treats for himself and dogs and pretty much the kitchen sink 'just incase' the rig bag could even fit a sibe in! The dogs had alot of fun over the very hard,  muddy and wet terrain and the team did some wildlife spotting just to keep their dad on his toes. It was Kara's first rally and she did a very good job leading a team of six with Aunty Laika over eighteen miles. The team achieved an AMWA Working certificate which they were pleased with. Woo!

Because Mr Evs didn't want to share the sibes, Mrs Evs (pictured left in a very chic all in one waterproof army outfit) ran a friend's malamute the giant 'Furby' from MountainTrek Malamutes, popping my malamute cherry! The lovely Furby and I ran eight and a half miles we and achieved an AMWA working certificate for Furby. We had a great time but no one mentioned that swimming would be a requirement for this rally!
