Hello Autumn!

Wow, where has this month gone! Temps are finally getting cool enough for regular runs so we have been super busy with the dogs and introducing Zinny to working in harness. Zinny is 10 months and we wanted to give her a bit of time before we started her in harness. Zinny's first run we put her as a two dog with Laika, Zinny has come into her first season so we have had to be careful about team placements and Laika was a safe bet for her first introduction. Zinny was a total pro from the off as if she had been working for years, all that good breeding for working attitude and drive certainly came together in a delightful DNA package with this one. We are really pleased and although Matt kept her first run short, steady and controlled she noticeably out ran Laika who has always been a steady girl and is now a veteran at 8 years, so we will look at putting her as a two dog with Pickle (who is also conveniently in season). Love training puppies!

Big dogs have been having a blast on the passenger rig on those Quantock Hills, we have been particularly impressed with Pickle, Pickle comes from slow maturing lines and at the end of last season something really clicked and although she always ran well , she has certainly taken it up a few notches and is really driving team and we have put her in lead with Mars and they are really great together.
A nice start to the season and a reminder why we travel five hours to race was the Best Paws Forward training event organised by BSHRA held in Thetford forest. Awesome flat, grassy trail and dogs had a blast, we had a good catch up after the Summer with our extended husky family and lots of money was raised for charity.

Our dogs get a good free run twice a week in a 4 acre field and it so lovely to see them run free in a secure area, they can really stretch out and we really feel it compliments their training in harness, and they are starting the season in good, muscled condition.
