Matt came home from Norway where he was teaching Arctic survival and we headed up on a little roadtrip around the Pembroke coast in Wales and landed in Pembrey where we enjoyed some super runs with the dogs and Mars enjoyed his first time in harness. Mornings were spent on the trail and the day walking the dogs in the country park and on the beaches and we all had a very lovely, relaxing time.
This led us to the final race of the British Sleddog Activities Championship where I picked up a silver place with Snak and Laika in the nordic two dog class and Matt a fifth place in the Nordic three dog class with Snik in wheel and Cass and Kara in lead. Laika is rather a slave to her seasonal hormones which affects her running so I was pleased the dogs picked up a second place. It was Kara Muffin's fourth birthday and she celebrated with her friends and Matt on the trail. Our friend John Binding from Mountain Trek Malamutes took our sibes Hux and Tonrar for a run in the two dog class and came third just 28 seconds behind me (Lou). Ashley Heath was a 3.6 mile night rally and it was magical running under a bright full moon on lovely trails.
