Winter Solstice the season of light and Love and new beginnings!

22/12/2015

But not colder temperatures! With the media reporting that this is the warmest December in a century this has of course affected the sled dog scene in the UK with trails being shortened and a distinct lack of training due to the humidity. At Demoneira we did get excited at the weekend where the temperatures had reduced to 11 degrees with a 73 % humidity so we took the dogs out for a nice leg stretch on the passenger rig at our main training forest and it was a jolly social affair meeting our friends for festive runs and we ran Jon Matherick's super boy Tank in lead on an eight dog team and it was a great run. Temps are meant to be reducing to the single digit brackets on the run up to Christmas so we will be keeping an eye out and getting the dogs out where possible.
