We spent a super August Bank Holiday weekend at the Alaskan Malamute Working Association's annual fun and training weekend along the Salisbury Plain. The event plays host to to over 1000 sled dogs who get together for fun training runs, demonstrations, talks and dog shows. I was delighted to be asked to judge the Adult Bitch Pedigree dog show and I had a lovely entry of Alaskan malamutes, Siberian Huskies and Canadian Eskimo Dogs. We took advantage of early morning runs when it got light at about 5 am to get the dogs out for a nice leg stretch on the predetermined trail. We took the passenger rig for a nice five dog team and the other days teams of three on a standard rig. This weekend saw Huxley's maiden voyage on bikejor and he was treated to a new zerodc short harness to compliment his new mode of travel. Huxley at 10 years old had a brilliant time and came back with that big, goofy smile we love so much. Our rowerland bikejor attachment, winadog bikejor line and zerodc harness all came from snowpaw store http://www.snowpawstore.com/ whom we highly recommend.
